On 11 June 2022, Mandeni Local Municipality strengthened its partnership with yet another private stakeholder, this was done to aid victims of the recent floods which swept through most parts of KwaZulu-Natal. Johnson Crane Hire, was warmly welcomed by the municipality in a partnership that saw about 200 families benefitting. Among the necessities that were donated by the company is blankets, sanitary packs, food parcels and a long-lasting partnership.

Speaking at this event, EXCO Member, Cllr, Sipho Magwaza lauded Johnson Crane Hire and urged other companies to always give back to the community.

“Companies generally serve and benefit from communities, it is always good to see them coming back to help communities in their times of need. We urged other giant companies to lay a helping hand, not only in Mandeni but across iLembe and the KZN Province at large” said Magwaza.

Event Organizer and the brainchild behind this initiative, Bhubesi Mthembu said that helping communities in need is forth at Johnson Crane Hire, and working with the Mandeni Municipality has been an ease.

“We thank all those who played a role in ensuring that today becomes a reality, especially Mandeni Municipality, their openness and willingness to help assisted a great deal.”

Mandeni Local Municipality has long been a supporter of various initiatives by the private sector and played a huge role as a bridge through which companies cross to come and help our people.

This event was a success and was warmly received by the beneficiaries and community members at large.
