Multi-Party Women's Caucus Lauds Mandeni Great Ambassadors

Mandeni Local Municipality Speaker, Makhosazana Zungu with the women who were lauded for their contributions and female ward councillors.



On 29 November 2018, Mandeni Local Municipality’s Multi-Party Women’s caucus held a fruitful Women’s Dialogue which was also used to honour women of fortitude who are contributing selflessly to the growth and emancipation of other women from within our Municipality.


Themed ‘Celebrating women of fortitude: Women United in Moving South Africa Forward’ the event highlighted the plight of women and also celebrated their courage as well as their relentlessness.

Speaking at the event, Mandeni Local Municipality Speaker, Makhosazana Zungu said that it is important to laud those who do well in the community so that more and more people will be inspired to follow suit.


“Our aim is to show all the women who dedicate their time to helping others that we appreciate them and we are cautious of what they are doing, these are great ambassadors of Mandeni” said Zungu.


Among the great ambassadors who were honoured on the day is Anele Mabuza, Palesa Matlou, Nompumelelo Nkosi, Nonhlanhla Mbusi and Olga Dlamini to mention a few.


The event was attended by women from various Government Departments, Civil Society Organization, religious groups as well as other formal and informal sectors within our community.


“A gathering of this nature is a sign that there’s a lot that women can do and achieve if they can unite. Together we can surely move South Africa forward” further said Zungu.


Multi-Party Women;s Caucus Chairperson in the Mandeni Sub-region, Malindi Mhlongo was also present at the event, leading a team of female councilors forming part of the Mandeni Municipal Counsel.


All in all, the event was a success, female service providers and entrepreneurs also got an opportunity to showcase their work.
