A scenery in one of the churches in Mandeni as members joined in prayer while observing social distancing protocols
On 30 July 2020, various church groups heeded the call for people of Mandeni to join hands and pray for the end of Gender Based Violence levelled against Women & Children as well to bring the notorious COVID-19 pandemic to its knees.
Prayers were held by individuals from the comfort of theirs homes, other churches gathered in prayer but obeyed the Lockdown regulations of sanitizing and social distancing. The Municipality has also called for every 'Thursday' to be observed as a day of 'Prayer' as we continue to battle social ills and the corona virus.
His worship the mayor of Mandeni Local Municipaity, Cllr. Thabani Mdlalose lauded this initiative citing that it will go a long way in restoring faith and pushing society to fight even harder.
"We are at war, everyday we are fighting different social ills and pandemics. Some we have control over and others we need God to intervene, hence we are urging everyone to join hands in prayer" said Mdlalose
