The unit also provides a stage for budding athletes to showcase their skills at various levels, enabling them to be scouted by household name teams or individuals in any sport discipline. Among our key achievements is having a host of young players plying their trade in the Premier Soccer League (South Africa’s elite football league) and in the second and third tier football leagues of our country. In rugby, we have had athletes groomed within out fraternity going up to represent South Africa at an international stage.
In other sporting codes such as boxing, cricket, netball, golf, indigenous games, Horse Racing, volleyball, basketball, karate, table tennis, athletics, aerobics and kickboxing we have had teams and players who continue to represent Mandeni at the highest level both in the country and abroad. Swimming is a new addition of the sporting codes we cater for, having been boosted by the construction of the state-of-the-art Mandeni Swimming Pool.
